We had the opportunity to sit down with Actress and Singer/songwriter Skye Townsend to discuss her inspiring upbringing throughout her entertainment career. From singing as a teen and going viral for her YouTube comedy skits, Skye’s journey was a joy to watch growing up for many young women.

She has now switched gears to acting and has been casted on HBO’s very own A Black Lady Sketch Show . Skye’s gift to be naturally entertaining has Influenced many as she makes her way to the top.

When asked about her creative process, Skye explains, “Whenever I am asked about my craft I always say whatever I am doing at the time It has chosen me I haven’t chosen it, — music is what made me happiest at the time, but comedy was knocking at the door.”

Skye was casted on comedy series, A Black Lady Sketch Show which is executive produced by Issa Rae. When asked about her experience being apart of an all black women cast she said, “Its like a real-life master class, Ive learned so much from these women, — I got to work with people I grew up idolizing, and Its been beautiful being on a platform like HBO as a black woman doing comedy however I want to do it, its so incredible.”
