The Trials and Tribulations of Tekashi 6ix9ine
Trial of the century? Maybe not, but the past two days have been quite entertaining, as everyone’s favorite clown on Instagram- sorry, rapper and Instagram personality, Tekashi 6ix9ine, has taken the stand in the trial against fellow Nine Trey Blood gang members Anthony Ellison, accused of kidnapping 6ix9ine, and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack, accused for dealing narcotics.

Known for starting feuds with just about everyone, rainbow-haired rapper 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, was accused of federal racketeering, on top of being involved in illegal gang activities, like the attack on fellow Soundcloud rapper Trippie Redd. According to Times, it only took about 24 hours for 6ix9ine to cut a deal with the Feds after being arrested last November. Now, almost a year later, he is telling a lot more than just his truth, leaving fellow celebrities in shock and social media going crazy.

From unknown in Brooklyn to notorious Instagram clout chaser to violent gangster-rapper, Hernandez spilled everything- translating gang codes, shedding light on the big names of the gang- and other celebrities that are allegedly involved in fellow Blood gangs as well.
In fact, Hernandez claimed that his initial involvement in the Nine Trey Bloods was just for show; the image of a gangster would help his popularity, and in return he had the protection of the gang. Lawyers insinuated that maybe Hernandez had taken notes from rapper Cardi B’s shot at fame- she had also started with heavy ties to the Brim Bloods. 6ix9ine then went on to say that he hadn’t copied her come up, but that he knew she had featured Bloods in her video. It’s something 6ix9ine did as well, with many of his videos showing prominent members of his ex-gang. Tragic for everyone involved, as 6ix9ine went on to ID some of those members as well.
Cardi responded pretty quickly, in case anyone got the wrong message.
6ix9ine eagerly provided another big name for the court, citing Jim Jones, whom he called a ‘retired rapper’, as one of the voices in a taped conversation with Jamel “Mel Murda” Jones, supposedly about the rainbow-haired rapper.
Beyond that, 6ix9ine labelled Trippie Redd and Casanova, two rappers the Nine Trey had beef with, as members of another Blood group. He detailed that despite going along with the plan to jump Trippie Redd when his manager had asked to squash the beef, it was Ellison, not Hernandez, that assaulted the Soundcloud rapper. They tried to pull up on him a second time after Trippie Redd failed to check in with the gang after arriving in New York City. Thankfully, Trippie Redd was not in the van, which was shot up by Kifano “Shotti” Jordan, who was 6ix9ine’s manager. Yikes.
As for his own kidnapping, 6ix9nine shared that yes, he had lied when telling Angie Martinez about how it went down. The prosecutors were quick to let the court know they were dealing with a troll, after all.
One can only hope that all this talk will be worth it. However, we do have one last question:

What’s next for the rapper? Some speculate that he’ll be free in a year or so, with all the testimony he’s provided. While some have shown disappointment in 6ix9ine’s antics (turns out, Snoop Dogg REALLY hates snitches), others are showing real support. Even T.I. thinks he’ll still get a warm welcome back from the music industry. Let us know what you think is next for the GUMMO rapper.
