Alexia Simone Releases Deluxe ‘A Beam of Black Light’ EP
St. Louis based singer Alexia Simone recently released her debut music video, "2 in the Morning" from her second EP, "A Beam of Black Light." Produced by K Kudda Muzic, the EP was released in December 2022 and showcases her novel expression of vulnerability through fresh R&B flows and hip-hop influence.
The visual, shot and directed by Kudda and Jaidah Kirksey, follows Alexia’s wind down into the early hours of the morning after being stood up by her lover, capturing emotions of hurt, realization, healing, and self-assurance.
Reflecting on her experience shooting her first video, Alexia Simone shared, "I’ve been releasing and recording music for almost two years and I always felt like dropping a video was the last step I needed to take in solidifying my presence as an artist. I’m excited for everyone to experience this moment of growth with me not only because it’s important in my journey, but it’s just as special to those involved. This video is stunningly shot and curated. It feels true to me as an individual and very much so embodies ‘Alexia Simone’ the artist in her current chapter.”
With her debut EP "Late Bloomer" released in July 2021, Alexia Simone is quickly establishing herself in St. Louis’ creative scene. Alongside her work as one half of the group InBloom, and various artists and producers in St. Louis, Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta and more, Alexia continues to build on and explore her versatile sound and soulful essence.
