Four Black Women-Owned Businesses you Should Support
As women’s history month and our #CelebratingHer series comes to an end, it’s only right to shine a spotlight on the women entrepreneurs within the black community. According to American Express, since 2014 the number of “women-owned businesses grew by 21% to nearly 13 million in 2019.” Continuously using their unique approach of being business owners, Black women continue to triumph to break standards and become their own boss. Contributing to the success of black women-owned businesses can be interpreted in different ways such as social media engagement, sponsoring, and purchasing items. Continuing support will help drive the representation of black business owners. Here are four Black Women-Owned businesses that we would like to highlight and celebrate for Women’s History Month.
What do you love the most about being a woman?
The power I possess! Women, but most importantly, black women, are the resilient creatures God created. I love what we can create out of nothing, the intuition we were given, the nurturing abilities, the love and passion we have for all, and overall our badassness.

The Melanated Bar’s message to women is to set time aside to indulge in pampering and self-care.
“My baby girls inspired me to create my company. It didn’t start as a skincare company right away, more so a self-care hobby for me. A way I took care of myself, so I could feel and look better. After seeing improvement in my overall mood and appearance, I knew I had to share my products and routine with other women!’
