Mindhunter: New season

Set in 1977, FBI hostage negotiator Holden Ford realizes something pretty horrific; people are just not killing like they used to. With serial killers at an all-time high, law enforcement needs to do something different. Holden’s solution? Interview actual serial killers; by understanding their darkness, he can shine light on the complicated and disturbing behaviors and patterns of serial killers.

While season 1 sets up viewers with the theories behind profiling, season 2 kicks off on studying one of the most horrific serial killers in history; Charles Manson. The Behavioral Science Unit also lends a hand in the Atlanta child murders, putting the profiling theories to work.

It’s a pretty gruesome show, as they hide nothing from the viewer. We’re talking regular conversations with men that violate, torture and kill. But it is incredibly interesting seeing the beginning of behavioral science within the FBI, as well as the fantastic casting for some of these serial killers.

13 Reasons Why: New season

Despite some backlash over incredibly sensitive topics they’ve covered before, such as glorification of suicide, highly triggering scenes depicting rape, and an attempt at uncovering the ‘why’ behind school shooters, 13 Reasons Why has a whole new season, with drama even further away from the original book. Honestly, props to the producers and writers because this should have technically ended by season 1.

Girl-next-door Hannah Baker commits suicide after relentless bullying from her classmates. The small town is shocked to its core after a series of tapes are circled around the individuals that Hannah pinpoints as the people who should feel guilty for her suicide. After one of the students is revealed to be a serial rapist, the students have decided to take matters into their own hands. One thing leads to another, and now Bryce Walker is dead. Who did it? Why did they kill him? Not sure if tapes are involved in this season, but it looks like a lot of secrets are about to be revealed.

The Family: New documentary

A secret Christian organization with connections all around the world that may be incredibly powerful and influential among our own government? Sounds like the perfect conspiracy theory to fall into for a couple of hours. Thought provoking and wonderfully crafted, The Family is an eerie look into how pervasive religion still is in our government, and what truth it hides behind such a false image.

The 100: New Season

An apocalypse has ruined the earth and made it unlivable. (Hard to believe it’s science-fiction right?) Humans escaped to space, only to send prisoners back down to see if they can survive life on Earth once again. These unlucky explorers returning to Earth must face radiation and the indigenous survivors of Earth’s apocalypse. It’s like Christopher Columbus comes back, but this time with mutated animals and acid fog. Expect some bad CGI, lots of explosions and bad ass characters- The 100 is definitely The CW’s best show in a while.
