One thing is for sure this year- the pandemic won’t stop holidays. But, if you are on the cautious side and want to play it safe this Valentine’s Day, get creative. You don’t need to be out and about to show your partner just how much you care and want to cater to them.

Check out our quarantine-friendly date ideas; some of them might even work for all our couples stuck in long-distance!

1.     Play a game of We’re Not Really Strangers

Want to get closer to your partner and really see how they tick? This unique card game is like an Uno for confessions, providing questions and prompts that push us to open up a little more and get vulnerable. There are several different packs, but they all provide the opportunity to really uncover who your boyfriend/girlfriend is at their core. Pair it with some wine, a cozy fireplace and some romantic music, and you might just be playing all night long.

2.     Order a Hello Fresh box

Hello Fresh is a great meal delivery subscription that allows you to choose as many meals as you would want for a select number of guests over the course of the week. You get to choose your meal plan, what meals you want and when you want to receive the box- as well as if you’d like to skip a certain week or more.

With some subscriptions, you also get the chance to choose wine or even dessert- so why not order a box for Valentine’s Day and get in the kitchen with your boo thang? Cook up a meal together and let sparks fly in the kitchen.

3.     Projector for an indoor movie/backyard movie

If you and your partner love movies but aren’t 100% sure about going to the movie theaters anymore, host your own movie night. You can get cute and get all the snacks and design it as if you really are at the movies, but if you really want to go above and beyond, get a projector. It’ll give a really cool retro feel to the date. Extra points if you choose a movie your partner loves!

4.     Make your own charcuterie board

Charcuterie boards are a cute little way of dressing up a regular dinner date. Plan a trip to your local supermarket and indulge in all the cheeses, crackers and smoked meats you’d want- the real fun here though is in decorating the board.

If coming up with your own charcuterie board seems difficult, there are DIY guides you can follow to surprise your partner with one, or you can even order one from local businesses like St. Louis’ Grazeboards STL.

5.     DIY Trap n’ Paint

Paint and sips were pretty popular last year, but you can continue the trend in your own living room. Get an amazing playlist going on (like Rare Radar’s Love Should Feel Like This playlist), order you and your partner a Trap n’ Paint kit (or make your own!) and get down to business.

6.     Spa night at home

You don’t need to rent out the local spa to show your significant other you want to pamper them! Go on a CVS/Sephora/Lush tour first and get all face masks, body scrubs, massage oil you need and then take turns giving each other facials, mani & pedis and massages. Dedicating a whole night to making each other smooth, comfortable and cozy can be really sensual and beautiful.

Remember, the best Valentine’s gift you can give to your partner is special time dedicated to them and an experience that no other person can give them, pandemic or not.
